Sway2Go! Recovery Ballroom was designed for non-dancers to teach ballroom dancing. Without having any prior experience teaching or ballroom dancing, we can help your learn how to guide others through our Sway2Go! Recovery Ballroom dance classes. Yes, we can!

Prepare lesson plans and select music for each dance
Structure a dance lesson that encourages learning
Set up your classroom for success
Prerequisites: Previous dance or teaching experience is NOT required. The Sway2Go! Recovery Ballroom Syllabus was created for non-dancers to teach introductory level ballroom dance lessons. We want you to facilitate successful outcomes. To be considered a Peer 2 Peer Instructor, you should be able to demonstrate that you are living a life of recovery. You may have participated in a local community recovery program in the past and are working moment by moment to sustain your wellbeing. One of most important components a Peer 2 Peer Instructor has, is your ability to understand from firsthand experience, the struggles your students face. The empathy you express toward your students, while you help them have fun while learning how to ballroom dance - can make all the difference! You'll help yourself - by teaching others how to ballroom dance. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

We hope to offer a Peer 2 Peer Instructor Training in Fall of 2019. If you are interested in attending a workshop or, if you know of an organization interested in hosting a workshop open to public we would like to know. We need a minimum of 4 participants to hold a Peer 2 Peer Instructor Training Workshop.
